As of this morning, Inspections are passed! Peter passed the first round of plumbing, electrical, and framing with flying colors! Okay, this is the view from the living room to the new dining room. This used to be a wall all of the way across, with the old kitchen on the other side. New windows too (thanks Jeff, Ryan & Josh for helping to lift them in!)

Wood Floor (where a rug used to be!)
The most impressive part of this picture... I (Abby) helped! Yup, I laid out the pattern & Peter followed close behind to nail it all in. The oak is going to be stained the same color as the existing floors, and we're keeping wood in the new kitchen. It's covered with paper to keep it unblemished while we (ha! :-) put up sheetrock.

Kitchen Demo!
If you never saw our "old" kitchen, there's a picture below, look for the yellow! (and rug!) But no more! Peter, Jeff (in green), Josh, Ryan (in red), and Pete's dad worked hard the demo the place. We have about 100 bags of garbage & literally "tons" of scraps in the back yard. We have new cabinets & appliances on order, they'll be here in a few weeks! :-) In the meantime you-know-who is staying up late every night working on getting it ready. (Hint: it's not me!)

Timber!
It was a Saturday in June when this gargantuan tree fell. You may have noticed Peter suspended up in the air, Jeff Allen stopping traffic on Valley Road in case the tree went that way, or Josh Gill on his way to the ER after helping load logs into the truck. It was an eventful day... firewood anyone?

The Little House on the Hill, from humble beginnings
We moved in on December 29, 2006, and thus celebrated our 6-month wedding anniversary in our "new" home. We were fortunate enough to buy one of the cheapest (if not the cheapest) homes in a nice town. It was a "no picture available" on realtor.com, for what we found out were good reasons! We were excited to put our own "stamp" on the place. So far it's been really fun!
